Welcome to the Club

Hey girl, does it make you cry?

Hey girl, do you wanna die?

Well, I know exactly how you feel.

You know which part of town he goes to run around.

I know exactly what you face.

I should be happy.  I should be pleased.

But all I can see are your tears.

It’s clear to me what will be will be,

Welcome to the club;   welcome to the club.

Hey girl, did you think this time

He’d stay and not two time?

I know exactly how you feel.

He’ll say you’re the one he’ll love from now on,

But he said those very words to me.

I should be happy.  You got what you deserved.

But I’d only be hating myself.

It’s clear to me what will be will be,

Welcome to the club;   welcome to the club.

The other woman becomes the other woman,

But we never thought twice, we never thought twice.

Let’s go and have a drink;

No, no, it’s not the way you think!

I know exactly what you need.

You’ll find the lessons learned are all part of what you’ve earned,

So cheer up, at least now you’re free.

You will be happy.  Just wait and see.

Deliverance comes with each tear.

It’s clear to me what will be will be,

Welcome to the club;   welcome to the club.
