I Don’t Wanna Want You

I woke up from a dream, thought I smelt your cologne,
Must have been a bad dream, ‘cause I’m still alone,
Been getting some comfort since you’ve been gone,
Me and Jack Daniels are getting it on.
I don’t miss your jokes or your silly alibis,
I don’t miss your hugs and kisses or your big blue eyes,
I don’t need your arms around me at night,
Don’t miss your silhouette dancing in the candlelight,
I don’t wanna want you.
Nearly every evening on cable T.V.
I can find a romance and watch it in peace,
If I get lonely, I’ll go out on the town,
I don’t let old memories slow me down,
I don’t miss your fireworks on Independence Day,
Got no need for holding hands or rolling in the hay,
I don’t miss our skinny dipping or sharing KFC,
These days when I’m dining out, I’d rather eat Chinese,
I don’t wanna want you.
INSTRUMENTAL BRIDGE
I don’t miss your music or our picnics in the park,
I don’t need “I love you”’s whispered in the dark,
If I’m not asleep at night, it’s not because you’re gone,
I just like to be awake so I can watch the dawn,
I don’t wanna want you.
