Ring Out, Wild Bells

Ring in God’s grace; ring out the ancient law,
Ring, happy bells, across the white snow:
The Christ child is born there in a stable low;
Ring out the false, ring in the true, ring out, wild bells!
Call to the hills; arise shepherds, spread the news
Ring to the moon and the bright Christmas star,
Ring to the East, to those who will travel far,
Ring in the joy, ring out the woe, ring out, wild bells!
Ring across the seas! Ring! We are redeemed!
Ring out the hate; ring in the merciful,
Ring out the greed for silver and gold,
Tell every shore we shall be slaves no more,
Ring in new life for all mankind, ring out, wild bells!
Ring out the pain and burden of sin,
Put to an end the coldness of time;
Ring out; ring out all of our mournful rhymes,
Ring in God’s love; ring in His Truth, ring out, wild bells!
Jesus is our King! O’ death, where is thy sting?
Ring in the good, the brave and the true,
Larger hearts and kind helping hands;
Drive out the dark, the evil that spoils our land,
Ring through the night, ring in the light, ring out, wild bells!
Ring through the night, ring in the light, ring out, wild bells!
