Different Sides
Matthew West, copyright 2006
It’s a roller coaster ride.
It’s a hide-and-seek
of the mundane grind
and the mystery:
up and down
in and out
around and around,
faith through doubt
Chorus: The twiddle of thumbs
and the helter-skelter,
under the gun
and under shelter,
they're just different sides
of the same ride
through the mystery.
Clueless at the threshold
speechless in the middle
minds too stiff to hold
the rhyme or the riddle,
but with hands in the air,
and screaming,,
we take the dare,
and go dreaming.
Chorus
Bridge
God stitches space
with comedy,
laces grace
with irony,
And those with a taste
for mystery
go grinning to their graves
Chorus
