Drug Problem

I was drug down to the laundry tub
That taste still lingers on my tongue.
From Ivory soap, when I was your age.
I was drug down to the candy store
by the hair of head just to pay for
that Hershey Bar when I was eight.
And, I was drug out to the wood shed for cheating on a test.
And I was drug down to the church of Christ where I learned to bow my head.
And, all those drugs run through my veins
Along with all the love my momma gave.
I thank God each and every day.
For my drug problem.
I was drug down to the neighbor’s house
Made to help him out.
Had to cut his grass when he was sick.
I was drug out of bed at six a.m.
My first hang over with a pounding head
Just to go to work, for my old man.
I was drug out to the woodshed for smoking cigarettes
I was drug down to the funeral home learned to pay my last respects.
And, all those drugs run through my veins
Along with all the love my Daddy gave.
I thank God each and every day.
For my drug problem.

When Life's temptations get in your way.
And the road your on leads you astray
Believe me Son, you'll turn around one day.
When all those drugs run through your viens
with all the love me and your mama gave.
You'll thank God each and everyday
For your drug problem.

Son, I drug you down to this laundry tub.
And, the taste is gonna linger on your tongue
From Ivory soap.
